PEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGY

Endocrine disorders are on the rise as more children suffer from obesity and diabetes everyday. At IPMS, Cydney Fenton, MD works to empower families to better manage these medical conditions so their children can focus on the important things… like being a kid again.

What is a Pediatric Endocrinologist?

Hormones released by glands in our endocrine system can affect how we grow and mature. Often times, problems in puberty are a result of disorders within this system. Pediatric Endocrinology is the science that studies the glands within the endocrine system and how their hormones affect the development of children.

What Types of Treatments Do We Provide?

Dr. Fenton’s special training and expertise allow her to care for children who suffer from conditions related to growth and development. At IPMS, we diagnose, treat, and manage hormonal disorders like the following:

  • Diabetes
  • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
  • Obesity
  • Growth problems
  • Early or delayed puberty
  • Enlarged thyroid gland (goiter)
  • Underactive or overactive thyroid gland
  • Pituitary gland hypo/hyper function
  • Adrenal gland hypo/hyper function
  • Ambiguous genitals/intersex
  • Problems with Vitamin D (rickets, hypocalcemia)
